Ohio Penalties for Alcohol Related Violations

OVI convictions are subject to mandatory penalties, including jail time, a court imposed license suspension and fines. Penalties increase with prior convictions. There also may be mandatory interlock system (breathalyzer) installed in your vehicle or restricted (yellow) license plates if convicted of certain OVI offenses.
