Over nearly two decades, Matt has litigated hundreds of cases in municipal, county, and appellate courts. He regularly represents clients throughout Butler, Hamilton, Warren, Clermont, and Preble Counties. Known for his skilled negotiation and trial advocacy, Matt has secured favorable settlements and plea agreements for many clients, while also successfully trying contested bench and jury trials when a negotiated resolution is not in a client's best interest.
Today, Matt's practice focuses primarily on domestic relations—including divorce, dissolution, custody, and child support—and on criminal and traffic/OVI defense. He approaches every case with the understanding that clients place tremendous trust in their attorney. Matt prides himself on being accessible, thoroughly prepared, and unwaveringly committed to each client from the first consultation through final resolution.
Matt is an active member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Butler County Bar Association, where he participates in the Criminal Law, Civil Litigation, Domestic Relations, and Social Committees. He has also served as a judge for the Ohio Collegiate Mock Trial Tournaments and the Ohio High School Mock Trial Competition, and he frequently volunteers with local schools and community programs. Matt is a 2014 graduate of the Leadership Hamilton program and has served on the Operation Pumpkin Festival committee for more than a decade, contributing to one of downtown Hamilton's most cherished annual events.
A lifelong resident of Butler County, Matt graduated from Stephen T. Badin High School in 1998 and earned both his Bachelor of Arts and Associate of Arts degrees from Thomas More College in 2003, where he played four years of collegiate baseball. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Dayton School of Law in 2006 and was admitted to practice in the State of Ohio that same year. He was admitted to the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio in 2012.
Matt lives in Hamilton, Ohio with his wife and their two daughters.
