Matthew S. Fritsch began his legal career in 2006 with a general practice emphasizing areas such as criminal law, traffic/OVI law, family law, child custody, civil litigation and personal injury matters.
Throughout his legal career, Matt has litigated hundreds of cases in municipal, county, appellate and federal courts. He routinely represents clients in all courts throughout Butler, Hamilton, Warren, Clermont and Preble Counties. He is an experienced litigator that has successfully negotiated many settlements and plea agreements to the satisfaction of his clients. However, not all cases can be adequately resolved by agreement of the parties. In those instances, Matt has aggressively and effectively tried many contested cases - both bench and jury trials - in areas including criminal law, family law, child custody and civil litigation. Over the years, Matt’s legal practice has grown into a focus on domestic relations (family law, divorce, dissolution, custody, child support) and criminal and traffic/OVI defense.
Matt understands that each client needing our services is facing a difficult, life-altering legal situation. Matt prides himself on being accessible and passionate for his clients. He understands the level of trust instilled upon him and this is reflected in his level of preparedness and zealousness through which he represents each and every client from the initial consultation to the disposition of the case.
Matt's professional activities consist of his membership in the Ohio State Bar Association and the Butler County Bar Association. He is a member of the Criminal Law, Civil Litigation, Domestic Relations and Social committees within the Butler County Bar Association.
In addition to his private practice and professional organizations, Matt has served as a Judge in the Ohio Collegiate Mock Trial Tournaments and Ohio High School Mock Trial Competition. He has been a Career Day speaker and Mock Trial leader at Stephen T. Badin High School. Fiehrer & Fritsch is a proud member of the Greater Hamilton Chamber of Commerce and Matt is a 2014 alumnus of the Leadership Hamilton program offered by the Chamber. He serves as the co-chair for the Operation Pumpkin Festival that occurs each Fall in downtown Hamilton.
Matt is a life-long resident of Butler County, graduating from Stephen T. Badin High School in 1998. He received his Bachelor of Arts and Associate of Arts degree from Thomas More College in 2003, where he was a four year baseball player. He graduated from the University of Dayton School of Law in 2006 and was licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio that same year. He was licensed to practice in the United States District Court, Southern District of Ohio in 2012.
Matt lives in Hamilton, Ohio with his wife and two daughters.
