Ohio Penalties for Alcohol Related Violations 
OVI convictions are subject to mandatory penalties of time in jail, a mandatory court imposed driver license suspension and mandatory fines. Penalties increase with every offense. There also may be mandatory interlock system (breathalyzer) installed in your vehicle or restricted (yellow) license plates if convicted of certain OVI offenses. 

First Offense - Jail Term at least 72 hours - Mandatory License Suspension from 1 year to to 3 years
Second Offense - Jail Term at least 10 days - Mandatory License Action suspended for 1 to 5 years
Third Offense - Jail Term at least 30 days - Mandatory License Action suspended for 1 to 10 years
Fourth Offense - Jail Term at least 60 days - Mandatory License Action suspended from 3 years to permanent revocation
